Sheila Watson

Upon relocating to Georgia in 1993, Shelia and her family united with New Macedonia Baptist Church (NMBC) under the leadership of Pastor Gerry T. Anderson.  Shelia joined the usher ministry. She worked under the leadership of the late Mrs. Annie Taylor, Richard Harris and most recently, the late Mrs. Gloria Embrey.  Mrs. Embrey resigned because of failing health and Shelia moved from the position of vice president to president.

With the help and support from the members of the usher ministry, Shelia works hard to keep the legacy of her predecessors moving forward. Shelia serves on several ministries at NMBC.  She is the Treasurer of the Deaconess Ministry, served on the Executive Board for the Youth and Teen Ministry for several years. She is on the IT Ministry, Ministry of Stewardship & Finance, Strategic Planning Committee, and works diligently with the youth and young adults.  She enjoys talking to, encouraging and sharing her knowledge with them.

Shelia successfully completed a Computer Programmer Internship at USDA in Washington, D.C.  Shelia received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems from Saint Leo University-Atlanta.  She earned a Masters of Science Degree in Public Administration from Central Michigan University-Atlanta.  Shelia is a dedicated Lead Budget Analyst with the United States General Services Administration. She has 34 years of Federal Service.

Shelia loves planning events, shopping and helping others in any way possible.  One of her God given talents is being an organizer.  She loves working in the background and seeing the end results of events and work assignments.  Shelia always plan in advance for vacations, events and work assignments.  Anytime she feels that she is getting behind, she goes into panic mode until she catches up.

She has been married to her high school sweetheart; Deacon Derek Watson for 35 years.  They have two daughters, one granddaughter and one grandson.
