Donald Battle

In recognition of those who faithfully serve in Clayton County, I would like to honor Bishop Donald Battle and Pastor Gwen Battle of Divine Faith Ministries International located at 9800 Tara Boulevard, Jonesboro, GA.

Bishop Donald Battle and Pastor Gwen Battle have led this congregation for over 25 years and as true visionaries, they have seen tremendous church growth. The ministry currently operates out of five campuses namely, South Campus, Generation Now, North Campus at Buford, Barnesville Campus, and McDonough Campus. Under the leadership of Bishop Donald Battle and Pastor Gwen Battle, Divine Faith Ministries International continue to exhibit a positive influence in the community.

To mention a few noteworthy accomplishments:

  • Joseph's Warehouse -Provides food and clothing to all in need within the community.
  • Outreach Ministry – Provides spiritual help and feeds the hungry in the inner city.
  • Prison Ministry -Visits persons in prison.
  • International Covenant of Christian Churches (IC3) – Is an established organization whereby Bishop Battle personally mentors local ministers and seeks to unite church leaders as they serve the community.
  • Sons of Issachar and Game Changers - Bishop Battle has established a mentoring program for young men between the ages of 12 to 18 years old. As a former police officer, he is well equipped with the insights to guide them, so preventing them from initiating and following a path of crime.
  • Destiny-In a similar manner to the young men mentorship, Minister Valarie Larkin of DFMI has a mentorship program for girls and young women between the ages of 12 to 21 years old.
  • Puppet Ministry- Helps young children to understand God’s word through drama. They perform at nursing homes, street festivals and other venues. They obtained first place in the Clayton County Christmas Parade and received the Major’s Award on Saturday on December 12, 2015
  • Ministers in Training Program- Prepares persons with a call to the ministry to receive basic biblical knowledge as a foundation on which to build their ministries
  • Spiritual Journey to Israel- Each year, Bishop Battle organizes and takes a group on a tour of Israel.  During these tours, the bible comes alive as the participants walk on streets where Jesus walked and have the opportunity to be baptized in the River Jordan.
  • Empowering Members of His Hometown- Bishop Battle returns to his place of birth and former school to assist the community.  Once there, he inspires community members and provides the necessary resources like computers, desks, and chairs needed by the school for educating today’s youth.

Moving Forward

Dream Center- Bishop Battle hopes to extend the work at Tara Boulevard to include a new state-of- the-arts recreation center, with a gymnasium, library, fellowship hall, classrooms, and much more. Support of this important vision is always appreciated.
