Pastor Ronald Bonner, Sr., is the husband of Rev. Dr. Rosetta Ross and the father of two sons Ronald S. Bonner II and Daniel H. Bonner, Sr.
As we know he is the pastor of the Lutheran Church of the Atonement, Atlanta, GA. And a Director of Evangelical Mission/Assistant to the Bishop of the Southeastern Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Pastor Bonner has served as the Manager for Multicultural Resources for Augsburg Fortress Publishers in Minneapolis, MN. Pastor Bonner’s first call having been ordained by the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. was to the United Church of Christ as the Assistant to the President for Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunity.
Prior to attending and completing Seminary from 1992 to 1995 he worked in Corporate America in various roles, including National Account Data Sales Executive for AT&T and Marketing Executive for I.B.M.
Pastor Bonner is the author of No Bigotry Allowed: Losing the Spirit of Fear, Towards the Conversation about Race. This book looks at the origins of race and racial tension in America. This compact book provides a practical and sustainable solution to the problems of racism and bigotry in the United States. His second book, The Seat is a short story looking at issues of radicalized law enforcement officers and effective ways to bring justice to victims of questionable police violence. He is also the editor of 3 religious devotionals.
Two of pastor Bonner’s foundational and favorite scriptures are Psalm 46:10 “Be still and know that I am God” and Romans 1:16 “I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth.” One of his favorite quotes is from Eleanor Roosevelt. “We gain strength, and courage, and confidence by each experience…we must do that which we think we cannot.”
